My abstract paintings concentrate on two main themes: landscapes, and identity. I am interested in the world about me, and interested in how it is perceived. I am interested in roles people play, beliefs people have, perceptions of people, places and cultures. At the same time I enjoy the artifice of painting. Marks on a surface that randomly represent something, that mean something, symbolise something. Each person perceives differently, sees differently, sees different meanings. The boundaries are limitless, it seems.
